Last spring I sowed two kinds of TPS: Russian Blue F2 from Durgan Blue Rose F2 from Tom Wagner 6 seedlings of Russian Blue F2 sprouted. Today I have seed potatoes (2 or 3 yellowish/white ones) from these, and if I had taken better care of them, I would have dark purple tubers as well, and there are some TPS left, which I will sow in spring. I sowed all (10) Blue Rose F2, but only one sprouted, and it died subsequently without setting tubers. Probably this happened because of my own inexperience, and I expect the F1 TPS from Tom (3232008 F1 = a02324 x MSJ465-1 4332008 F1 mostly Skagit Valley Gold) to fare better.

Well if it makes you feel better my TPS sowing in October is also a failure! Most died because the aphids infected all the overwintering plants and had to move them to an sunny yet unheated room. Some seedlings are surviving so far one of Potato Dance (svalli) , 3 Mystery (Richard's) , from Tom's varieties Open Pollinated TPS....one Amey X, 2 Nordic Lumper X ,one Nordic October X and 5 Reiche Tom X, 3 Cosima-kern toro X and the only SVG X succumbed trully heart breaking. Fortunately I have TPS of most except Potato Dance and SVG X. Next time I would probably start as soon as I harvest the seed berries, sow a TPS tray and have them grow in late summer through fall, let them die in winter and harvest the minitubers in early february, plant in May and get F2 the following fall. in case anybody is wondering X=unknown father cause they are open pollinated
