i just wanted the best to offer my chefs. Dean Tom is definitely able to supply seed tubers, even if that's not his main focus. His standard sampler is 1 #, which is probably little for your needs Dean, but he also sells 8#, and one or more of those packets may be adequate for you. As Wendy wrote, big seed potatoes are not necessarily good, but you have to take care they are not frost-bitten at arrival.

Tom? Future, are you planning on sowing seed this early? If you are let me prepare a special seed pack for you. I will go thru my Skagit Valley Gold crosses to find one that is very gold/orange inside. I have a number of them that are not named yet and some berries yet on those....and if I find one that meets my standards I will name it Future Gold. The TPS from Future Gold might lead to a range of gold types that could be named (Future Gold in the present tense)....and of course, that naming would be up to you. I was thinking of Clarence Hill Gold but I think he won the bronze? It could be named Bermuda Shorts Gold, Golden Bermuda Triangle, Present Gold, Forever Gold, Bermuda Gold...thing is.....the variety named has to find its genesis on the island. From Seed to Tuber.

I need to quit describing potatoes and tomatoes on my doc forms and seed seed out. I have a back log of duties to attend to.

Okay, now, I have one last question how do I get 2 #8s shipped to me? And how much? okay, that was 2, and the reasons for wanting size perhaps is less to do with space in the garden and more to do with less peeling...hehehe

Darth, you got the smarts and sheltered space to start TPS. Well, maybe you have the sheltered space...
My grow outs are gonna be to a more hardscrabble population. I'm not trying to sell to restaurant trade. I've got welfare moms and other subsistance oriented folks to get clones into their hands. Worse I don't have a root cellar so I need a russet lookin' spud to both give away spuds with and set seed.
I have my fingers crossed that TW has my need.

Not sure if that was a lefthanded compliment, hehe But i don't have the time for tps. I need a crop this year and Tom is for sure a genius, I thought I could have the best of both worlds with some of his stuff, Looks and taste.

Okay, now, I have one last question how do I get 2 #8s shipped to me? And how much? okay, that was 2, and the reasons for wanting size perhaps is less to do with space in the garden and more to do with less peeling...hehehe Hello Darth, I copied this from tomatoville about the 8# box sampler offer in 2010 to give you an idea. tomatoville.com/showthread.php?t=13230&highlight=sampler+tom+wagner"Because I want folks to try lots of varieties of potatoes, I could easily put one tiny potato tuber per variety in a box and get 'em to you when you are ready to plant. Most of the potatoes that I would send are as good as certified seed potatoes since they are either one or two years from true seed (No virus) or from one season away from tissue culture (USDA source). For the last two years I have sent out my Potato Sampler--an 8 lb box for $40 postpaid. It can have anywhere from 5 to 20 varieties per unit. Wood Prairie has a similar box for that price, therefore it is within the range of what other potato seed sellers do. I am thinking of sending out a one pound box with 1 oz. tubers with about 15 different varieties. Perhaps $10 would be a fair price. Any opinions would be appreciated." Please go to tater-mater.blogspot.com for Tom's phone number and his email is here in the profile. Last year I went with Tom's offer of 1# sampler for $10 and I got about 15# harvest. The varieties I got are below in descending order of producton/pounds. Skagit Valley Gold Mule Skinner blues Adirondaksen x Kern Toro Reiche Tom Lumper Nordic October Cosima x TomKaighin Amey 225710 Blue Rockies Sarpo Finger Marcy Lumper Nordic BoyPig x RedThumb My favorite and most productive was Skagit Valley Gold, second favorite was AKT, the rest I could not taste or only tasted one so I can't say yet. The biggest potato was Amey at 1/2# per potato. I got RT and CTK at 3-4onz per potato. The member DarJones had a great harvest with some other varieties. Good luck and plenty harvest ;D

Spent part of the day trying out the links to a web site just about ready to launch. I have 101 tomatoes listed with most of them never-before-listed varieties.
I have many new lines to add to the pdf listings. The worst part of setting up a web site for sales is that you have to file all these legal papers, tax ID #, nursery license, resellers license, bank account, credit/bank card, mailing address, business address, help email links, and the like.
I am postponing taking direct orders until the web site can handle any traffic. Bear with me, folks.

I need a crop this year and Tom is for sure a genius, I thought I could have the best of both worlds with some of his stuff, Looks and taste. If you use Tom's new business site (which I'm sure you know already) you can order a #8 sampler at $40 and "Grower's Special" @ $25. The Sampler will provide diversity and colour, and the "Grower's Special" bulk/volume, so I think you can get "the best of both worlds".
