A Husky Cherry tomato I planted out just over a month ago to testdrive some new Black Kow compost has developed stalk tops terminating in fat tips with a slight point and no foliage. The tips resemble the back end of a green caterpillar ending in a 1/16th inch taper. The plant grew from 7 inches to about 15 inches tall, but has stopped flowering. There were only a few flowers showing when it was planted out. Could this be the result of warm days and cool nights or maybe a virus?

The only time I've seen something like that was when excessive salt was in the soil.

That's entirely possible since the soil is 100% composted dairy manure. Found a formula that says 6" of water will remove 50% of the salt. I might give it a try.
