One of the central tenets of the tour was to remind folks that diversity comes from the people first; there is more of us than there are big multi-national companies, universities, governments, etc., and if enough people have the access freely of huge sources of old diversity, current diversity and future diversity...then no one can take those seeds away, restrictions be dammed!
I, for one, wishes that if the big guys want something, they will have to come to us.
Feeding the world does not come only from the few but from the many small farmers, gardeners, and backyards first and then grows up to the mid size farmers and beyond. And to do this organically sets the stage in the most natural way possible.
The seed I passed out during the tour was given freely and I suggested that they share the increase of seed freely too. That way it can multiply regardless of seed law registration barriers.
