jondear, the tuber left for 18 months is not in eating conditions, but alive. It grew a potato on top, so I will plant those 2...
The potatoes I harvested in October and separate "as seeds" from that variety are perfect in eating conditions after being in Storage for 5.5+ months.

Oh, I missed the alive part. I need to improve my storage conditions for this year.

Wow, now that's a keeper tater!
Wendy, I would love to try any taters descended from the Moie-moie. I will send around the Maori Purple after harvest time this year. You're first on the list.

jondearMy storage conditions were a wooden box, single layer "seeds" in the basement corner under filtered light. But since I select for long storage they are better each time. At this point I only got SVG and AKT of lower storage. This year I placed my box in my 2nd floor spare room, unheated and it dipped into 35F there but the tubers look amazing. trixtrax I got some Moie Moie TPS this time from Richard Watson. I will grow it and evaluate it. He posted some pictures somewhere they are nice looking spuds. I only got little TPS seeds let's see what I get. I will certainly pass around some tubers at fall time since I am not a farmer just hobby gardener and I think they deserve a serious farmer to grow them! Besides Richard's wishes are that Moie Moie reaches USA since it is his favorite tater. I will gladly do so.
