See my video on harvesting few hills of potato nicola from sprout. Amazing for me Never I had a such yield from tuber, and just from a sprout, it's better than I Thought
sorry comments are in French
bellow :
Translation I dig a hill of Nicola potato, from a single sprout, and we see what's happen under the soil. Look what we have from a single potato sprout. I think there's one more here The avantage to work with sprout is we have no many tubers but they are biggest Here it's a sandy soil, no irragation, this year many rainfall, the soil staying moist, it's realy a sandy soil I dig by hand only. The Nicola variety haven't tubers who grow far away. An other one tuber here I tell you this crop come from a single sprout Generaly in this soil, we haven't got the half of that. One more potato And again one more It's amazing, i dont know if they are another hill near this one because it's crazy. The show Probably 5 lbs I have dig two others hills, see the results, it's near the same things. Go to the weighing 1915 gr around 4,2 lbs

Doug Strong would second the motion of what you observed. I think I will try this more in the future.

On this picture two clones of Tollocan Fiesta sowed last year, all the plants are destroyed by late blight 2 weeks back. One seems to be earlier and give me big tubers harvest from sprout, very nice taste and the biggest weight 3 lb (1,4 kg) from a single sprout. Your potato, Tom, has a great future in my garden. Thanks you and thanks to samyaza for the seeds

Good looking potatoes, I've only had white skinned ones from TF. Like you though the taste is a winner and very nice.
