Blue Tears is one of my tomato varieties that will likely be listed for sale again. Notice the beautiful blue coloring in the stems, leaves, and blossoms? This trait seems to be somewhat hypnotic and isn't it fun to look at? This photo will likely be used to promote blue tomato varieties and you will see it often as the web links to it in a search box.

Now that is art. I bet this would be even more-striking with chartreuse foliage. By the way, my Blue Tears fruit had VERY good flavor this year. The foliage was not as pronounced as yours so I am glad you are offering more seed because I received 3 seeds in a trade and did not get the foliage result (atv) that you got, or the Aft result. i1187.photobucket.com/albums/z388/WillysWoodPile/2012%20Starts/6-23Willies026.jpg

Terry,
Thanks for the information about the flavor on Blue Tears. I have a number of selections made and the picture of the blue leaf/stem Blue Tears is one currently growing with a cooperator. I hope to increase the seed of that one to compare with my other selections. Obviously, if I can keep the flavor and increase the blue pigment in the leaves/stems....that should be enough. However, I would like to see more pigment in the fruit. Perhaps some more crossing with augment that.
I should have seed from the first picture here in a couple of months...maybe late February. Perhaps, if time allows, I'll show the resulting fruit.

Very interesting, last season was a complete disaster for the tomatoes that I grew, none were Tom's mainly because I couldn't fine any that might work for me. I will look over what Tom has to sell when he's open for business again. The blue tears line does look nice, I might try getting some just because their interesting. Tom do they have any blight or virus resistance ? With the high temps of 100F plus and killer humidity which triggered a killer wave of blight, wilt and mildew most of my garden was wiped out. Out of 60 tomato plants that I started out with in May, by September I had 3 cherry types and 1 paste type. So this season I'm starting out with all new varieties as I can that might work better than my usual tried and true which didn't survive last season.

Good looking seedlings, nice colours. Is it your first time growing these, I'm wondering how they taste?

Good looking seedlings, nice colours. Is it your first time growing these, I'm wondering how they taste? They had really good, balanced flavor, but no Aft in the first growout. This is my second growout from Tom's original offering of seed.
