Last year, like almost everybody in the area, I saw NO colorado pb in my patch, not even one. And it was the same for everybody I talked to at the local village pub, all gardeners. Only one guy saw some, and it was 2 or 3 and he crushed them.
I suppose it is related to some environmental ( weather) condition, but does anybody know what could cause that?
It even happened to a small corner of the garden where I did not rotate crops and was ridden by them the prior year.
Will they take time to re-establish themselves to their former state of arch-common pest?
Was it only local here or also the case elsewhere?

My guess is that CPB goes through cycles. I would be surprised if those pests didn't come back.
Wonder if the GMO varieties have anything to do with it. If not, you will read a blurb several years from now on the patterns of infestation and a trajectory.
I have bred up potatoes with high levels of the glycoalkoloids in the leaves, but not in the tubers to counteract that.
