I grew the Yamali blue last winter. What a curious beast it was indeed! In fact I was just going to post about it....here is the really curious part. I still have one tomato from that plant picked over 90 days ago! What a shelf life. I think they could replace flowers. Imagine a bouquet of fuzzy purple tomatoes! One thing that I have noticed is that the anthocyanin coloring has faded recently. will grow some again for sure!

Thanks for the news about the Yamali strains. Tell me again and maybe for the first time where you got the Yamali name.
I picked up a starter plant of my Woolly Blue Jay from one of my friends who got the seed from someone in California. It looks very similar to Yamali Blue. Hope to get some pollen from the flowers as they bloom out in maybe a week. Crossing it to a distant cousin as Yamali may turn up something interesting as your hybrid.

Yes, my Woolly Blue Jay looks similar but does not seem to have the antho' content in the foliage that Yamali Blue has. At least my F-4 plant in town does not seem to...but I could be wrong.

I will take a picture of the Woolly Blue Jay as it grows.....I was going to use the plant primarily for the pollen and maybe one selfed fruit.

Tell me again and maybe for the first time where you got the Yamali name. Yamali is the contraction of the first syllable of the names of my children : YAnnis, MAïa, LIla

Here is Woolly Blue Jay F-4. Pictures taken today 6-29 in Lower Michigan. Nice fruit, and a bit woolly:

Looks a lot like a Woolly Green Zebra minus the stripes and blue
