I and Robin Marble run a small charity. Much as I like this site, TPS is just a bridge too far for for a new gardener, and mailing spuds for clonal growth is too spendy for our wallets.
Can anyone direct me to the folks who are working with Bears Ears--Four Corners potato?

Yeah, not much activity on this forum these days.
Most of the relevant potato discussion, that I know of, is happening on the Kenosha Potato Project and Cultivariable Facebook groups. A few people there are working with Solanum jamesii.

From an economic standpoint, S. jamesii tubers are probably going to be more expensive than commercial seed tubers from tuburosum. jamesii is also a bit dubious regarding edibility due to glycoalcaloids. TPS is probably too uncertain to determine yield without experienced growing it. Most TPS will not produce close to the yields required to feed people in any significant way. You would probably be better off trying to bulk source commercial seed tubers if economics is the driving factor.
