Just joined because I am going to try container growing potatoes this year and wanted to see what has done best for those of you that grow in containers and also what y'all recommend for production? I sell at market so I need a combination of early/main crop. Thanks and glad to be here!

container growing in winter is vastly different from growing in season. Getting seed potatoes is always a problem when they aren't available and keeping your own might be problematic if you have virus buildup.
Depending on how your market accepts odd varieties and if they just want standard types is another consideration. The size of the container and the growing medium and whether or not you are growing conventionally or organic will throw the expectations for a loop.
You can charge more for fingerling potatoes than you can for russets. Same for blue or red flesh over whites. I would prefer to grow some of the diploids in order to have a value added product.
Lots of things to review, but I will try to come back on line to answer.

I obtained a diploid mix from a hybridizer in the USA, about 100 seeds for personal use just to see what I can grow out and eat for myself. The same source still has Columbian mix of wild seeds on his website, but they would only give tiny tubers.
