I should have lots of color in tomato varieties coming up much like this one.

They look quite enchanting, I somehow managed to slip some into my basket I hope some will be of a similar colour. Look forward to more varieties with this colouring

Looks gorgeous. When I do know if they are ripe I wonder?

When would they be ripe? Kinda like a Mango..I see them in stores but I would not know when they are ripe ether. My early observations indicate that when a change of color occurs on tomatoes...that is the time to start experimenting on what flavor is linked with color and softening of the fruit. The pastel colors...pale delicate colors of soft colors...pink, yellow, green....should be evident and not just green. Flesh colors of the Pastel series will have to be noted and recorded. Otherwise, what does a Mango look like when it is ripe? Probably depends on the variety. I should work on getting larger Pastel series and name them similarly to the Mangos of Hawaii. Hint.

Everyone may whine at me but that just looks like blotchy ripening Tom. Any interior pics? Are the insides multicolored?

Since these tomatoes "Pastel Sleeves" were grown in Hawaii, I had to wait until I talked with Gary on the big island to ask him about flesh color. The interior is green.
I rather like the blotchy splotchy dodgy skin with the contrast to flesh color. There will be other color combinations and likely a marketable F-1 hybrid to come to fruition. I extracted seed from a rare blotchy heirloom variety that I picked up in Oregon last Friday. I will send this seed to Hawaii in some hope of making it there this winter to make the initial cross of this heirloom to the next generation of Pastel Sleeves.

Some of the material from Randy has been doing that. They have interior flesh variations as Mr Stripey was in the background lineage.
Had few things do it as well. Again with some kind of bicolor gene in backgrounds.
The look drives growers nuts. They think something is wrong/stink bug damage. Buyers tend to overlook them as well.
<rant>Can't give out samples at markets anymore without food handling permits and a van load of food handling equipment. </rant>

I picked my Pastel Sleeves when I was down in the San Diego area. I have not come across them yet in my seed extraction...the fruits are in the refrig.

us-mg5.mail.yahoo.com/neo/launch?.rand=agg80ffinphhu#1303715001I get constant emails from forums all over the world and, Yes, Clive Barrow posted a picture of Pastel Sleeves. [Tomaten en aanverwanten (Solanums) The seed I harvested on my own PS was extracted as a mature green and could not wait for it to ripen. No information other than it is an odd shaped pear. I notice I lot of growers from Australia showing up on the 'net. I wonder what their sowing and harvest seasons are?
