This an other one of Tom's that I grew this year. The description at New World is --- "Grappler’s Quest Pink grape, indeterminate. All I wanted was a sweet red cherry from the most unlikely of parents; Schimmeig Creg, Sun Sugar, and Green Grape. I feel like I am in a grappling tournament, facing one opponent after another. But if somebody wants to grapple with me…the quest may end soon. Should segregate to have flavors of its ancestors." Out of 8 seeds started, only 3 germinated or germinated early enough to warrent potting on. Of the three plants, two are darker coloured and one is pink. That is, it's more pink than red. One of the dark ones is in the greenhouse and really the only difference seems to be better performance outside. The pink one is much tastier; more flavourful. It's a winner. The dark one is more like a black tomato but not as tasty as 'Black Cherry'. The darker one: The pink one:

Glad you could get a couple of versions out of it. Flavor is always elusive, but when you get it....

I have eight plants from the pink variety in the ground this year. All are producing pink fruit. Perhaps not enough to be statistically certain but I think that most plants grown from seed collected this year will produce pink fruit. It has a nice flavour and I'll probably grow it most years.
Tom, what generation do you estimate this to be?
