Holy cow! Just pulled my Early Chaucha TPS seedlings and sorted out ten entirely different tubers for re-planting...red, orange, purple, bi-color, round, oblong, fingerling, and (drum roll) a shiny black teardrop. I cut a little one in half lengthwise and the flesh is yellow with a black core running lengthwise. Don't know if that will stay the same in a fully mature tuber. Tom, can you name the probable male responsible for the black?

Took a bit to think a likely parent might me. I am thinking it is Bad to the Bone. It fits the description for a diploid pollen parent. I hope it was but you may have many pollen parents too.

Thank you, Tom. Bad to the Bone, huh? Sort of fits with the name I'd like to give them if they run true for a couple of years...Black Satin. Does that suit you okay?
