Hello,
Since few days I tried to harvest pollen from my tomatoes but even with an electric toothbrush I dont get any. Last year I remember having my hands covered of pollen just by passing my hands next to the flowers but it was later on the season .
Is it possible that the first flowers dont produce any pollens ?
Thanx.

If i don't get pollen right away I allow the anthers to dry up a for a few minutes or hours and tap them against a glass jigger to finally get pollen.

Strange, even if I let the anthers dry I still get nothing in the glass, I'm gonna retry with an other variety as soon as I can.

The best way to learn I guess. Hopefully the weather in France is great this year and I have a lot of flowers to practice.
Thanks again Tom.

I finally made it ! The problem came from the purple glass I used, its color is too light to allow me to see the pollen. Today I used a black mug so I could see all the pollen inside, so I used it to cross POLISH EGG (female) with PINK ACCORDION (male). I hope I did more cross than wounds to the flowers when I pulled out the anthers.
